Gordon Bombay - Greatest Coach Ever?

Now that the Ducks are up 2-0 on those choking Ottawa Senators, the editorial board at the Daily Dyson has decided to focus on one of the greatest coaches to ever coach this legendary team.

Gordon Bombay was sentenced to coach the District 5 pee-wee hockey team, who later became the Mighty Ducks, after being charged with DWI in 1992. Through toughness and perseverance, Bombay was able to coach a motley crew of young kids into becoming a successful hockey team. The success of this team led to continued coaching, two sequels (D2 and D3, which the Terminator franchise later blatantly stole), and the creation of the modern day Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.


Bombay revolutionized the hockey world with his use of the deadly "Flying V", as well as utlizing the unique talents of his players, ranging from the knuckle puck to figure skating prowess, to utlizing the line of the Bash Brothers to enforce a stiff and bruising play on their opponents, who incidentally always seemed to wear black.

The editorial board at the Daily Dyson wishes the best to Gordon Bombay and the Ducks. Anybody who is beating the Sens 2-0 in the Stanley Cup finals is a friend of the Daily Dyson.

So the NHL Eastern Conference Final matchup has been set. Ottawa will play Buffalo to determine who gets a shot at the Stanley Cup.

This series is going to be one to watch. Two high powered offensive teams going up against each other. Two young goalies that are playing excellent in the playoffs. Add to that the bad blood simmering between the two teams after the brawl on February 22...


I'm taking Buffalo to win this series. Ottawa is overdue on the golf course right now. They will choke again like they always do.
